SyncGuard Privacy Policy
Effective: August 11, 2026
SyncGuard is a read-only reconciliation service for Shopify merchants who connect an eBay seller account. This policy explains the operational data the service processes.
Data we process
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Shop domain and Shopify app session | Authenticate the merchant and operate the embedded app. |
| Variant IDs, SKUs, prices, currency, and inventory quantity | Compare Shopify catalog state with eBay. |
| eBay OAuth credentials | Request active-inventory reports; credentials are encrypted at rest. |
| eBay item IDs, SKUs, prices, and quantities | Generate reconciliation findings. |
| Run, finding, audit, and webhook metadata | Show history, prevent duplicate processing, and operate the service. |
SyncGuard does not request Shopify customer or order data and does not intentionally process eBay buyer identity data.
Sharing and security
Data is shared only with infrastructure providers needed to host the service, or when required by law. Access is tenant-scoped; marketplace credentials use authenticated encryption; transport must use HTTPS in production.
Retention and deletion
Operational records are retained only as needed to provide and secure SyncGuard. OAuth credentials are removed when an account is disconnected. Shop data is deleted when Shopify sends the mandatory shop-redaction webhook. Merchants may request access or deletion through support.
